why clean candles?

"Fragrance" and "Parfum" are found in many products. The FDA allows these catch-all terms to serve as a single ingredient when in reality the scent could contain hundreds of chemicals, including harmful carcinogens, hormone disruptors, and allergens.  Most soy candles are scented with artificial fragrance, conveniently leaving out the ingredients list.

Aspen Clean Candle NEVER uses harmful fragrance oil chemicals, and will always disclose our scent ingredients. They are only pure essential oils and phthalate-free blends!

Mainstream candles are primarily paraffin wax, derived from petroleum.  

At Aspen Clean Candle, we use SOY wax, a sustainably-sourced, vegetable-based wax that burns clean and slow.

Further, we only use organic hemp and cotton wicks with no metal in the core. You won't get the black, carcinogenic soot you find in most candles.
